Can't get bookmarks to work

I'm using the fish shell, and exporting the NNN_BMS variable like so:

set -x NNN_BMS "d:/mnt/data/me/Downloads;m:/mnt/data/me;"                                                                                             

When I press b, it opens up the normal / search bar instead of bookmarks. I've verified that the env var is being exported correctly by echoing it out. I also have the correct perms to the mounted directory.

I had compiled nnn from source to use some patches if it matters, compiled fine with 0 errors.

Haha, yep works fine in bash for me. Any idea how can I get it working on fish?

Got it working by using the universal switch:
set -Ux NNN_BMS "<string here>"
