Help! Can't get it to connect!

Hello- i am not good at Ubuntu at all but I used to use the old version of this and am trying to use the new jdholtz one. I have everything installed now but when I run it, it seems like Selenium just isn't connecting and giving it anything to read from. The Selenium version is 4.35.6.

It was giving me a read timeout error and basically showing Selenium was not responding. Now, it just locks up. My SSH terminal locks up and I can't get a response from Plesk or anything until I reboot.

I don't have anything else installed on this server.

Any suggestions?

Update: I just signed into the console and see it has an out of memory error. So I guess 1GB isn't enough to run it.

Hello. The script uses Chromium with Selenium, which could be the reason a lot of memory is being used. If you can, increase your memory limit a little and see if you are still running into the same issue. It might also be a good option to try the Docker image. That way, your entire system shouldn't lock up when the script takes up all the memory.

Update: I gave up with 1&1 and installed a new Oracle free cloud instance. I was trying to get it to work the normal way, but was getting odd errors related to Chromium etc. when it was running. I then installed Docker and ran it in a docker container. It seems to run fine, but didn't give any input. i figured out how to look at the log, and I am concerned that it seems to be saying it is signing in and identifying my reservations but it is unable to get the information it needs out of them to proceed due to a 403 forbidden area.

Note: I started this with my user name and password so it was able to successfully figure out flight confirmation numbers.

403s have been commonly seen in Docker for a while now (see #277). #344 has been working for me in Docker, and I will try to get that merged soon, so be on the lookout for a new release!

Hello, @jdholtz . Thanks for checking. I actually stopped trying to get it to work, primarily because I figured it would be a short-lived project with Southwest about to change its seating system. Is that accurate, or is there something this might still come in handy for under the new rules? Thank you!

The check-in system won't be functional anymore in the script. However, checking for lower fares on flights (that are not the Basic fare) will still be around and won't be as affected by Southwest's changes.

Ah, that’s unfortunate. People have reported getting blocked more frequently when using a cloud service or VPN. There’s no workaround at the moment, but if you are interested on any progress being made on the issue I’d recommend paying attention to #277.

This is a full leased server through Hetzner I am playing around with.

I set it up the non-Docker way and it seems to be functioning fine. So I would think it is isn't an issue with the IP address it is coming from- I imagine the IP address would be the same coming from Docker or more directly?

Anyway, glad it is working in some manner! I'm very good with computers generally but know almost nothing about UNIX so I'm fumbling through this!

I guess I spoke too soon.. I swear it worked a time or two and timed out. Now, it's logging in, identifying a flight, but then when it tries to retrieve the flight information, timing out due to "forbidden." :(

Interesting, so they may just be detecting it on heuristics (obviously, I have no idea but just speculating). Appreciate you reporting back on the issues you are running into after trying!
