Dupe check: return similar releases of the same title

Hi, I noticed this problem that you had already fixed.

The duplicate control process works only with the similar file name, now I’ll write an example to you:

File name:

Grown.Ups.2010.1080p.BluRay.DDP5.1.x264-iSlaNd.mkv

Screen:

Tracker:

When you enable the rename function in the tools, here are the results:

File name:

Un.weekend.da.bamboccioni.2010.BluRay.1080p.DDP.5.1.x264-iSlaNd.mkv

Screen:

The new dupe check, checks by the exact filename. Which should cover 100% of all cases.

The problem is if you take a file Grown.Ups.2010.1080p.BluRay.DDP5.1.x264-iSlaNd.mkv and translate it Un.weekend.da.bamboccioni.2010.BluRay.1080p.DDP.5.1.x264-iSlaNd.mkv and re-upload it, it is a different file. So it wouldn't be a duplicate of the original title.

Logistically it would be very error prone to attempt to automatically translate titles into another language on the fly and check for X number of files. It would also require many API requests.

The first file already on the tracker is called: Karate.Kid.Legends.2025.iTA-ENG.Bluray.1080p.x264-CYBER.mkv while the upload is called: Karate.Kid.Legends.2025.1080p.BluRay.DDP5.1.x264-iSlaNd.mkv

Requirement to be a dupe:

• All filenames must exist on the tracker in the torrent.

Example below, this is not a dupe. The key thing to realize here is the files are different, so the file/release is not a duplicate.

TrackerA:
 Title: Blah.2020-Group1
 Files: blah.mkv

TrackerB:
 Title: Blah.2020-Group2
 Files: blah1.mkv

Is there another use case or something I'm not understanding or did that clear things up?

I understand what you mean. You are wanting to find similar releases based on the title and attributes (to see if a slot is taken etc). This functionality will need to be added in, atm the dupe check is to check for a 100% match (as far as the filename goes) which is truly a duplicate.

I will add it in, but it will likely come after series support (which is about 70% done).
