Export of reliable timestamps with vtt

For months, I have experimented with vtt-export for Exmaralda. I tried to use noscribe for complex classroom recordings with many speakers and partitur transcripts with Exmaralda. However, only recently, I disovered the notice within noscribe 0.6 that it doesn't export timestamps for vtt. What's the reason for this? I also used atrain for some time, however, the timestamps were not reliable and the results useless. Is there a fundamental problem? Or could a reliable timestamp export for vtt and Exmaralda become a reality in the foreseeable future?

That's a misunderstanding. With the VTT file format, the timestamps are always embedded into the file and will be imported into Exmaralda. The extra "timestamps" option in the GUI will additionally include verbatim timestamps ("[00:01:33]") into the transcribed text itself, which is not needed for Exmeralda.
With noScribe version 0.6, I have worked on making the embedded timestamps more reliable. Give it a try, I'm curious to hear about your results. From my testing, it works quite well, although there might be situations where the timestamps are not 100% accurate.
Also, the different speaker tracks should be imported into Exmeralda.
