What is Loong?

https://areweloongyet.com/en is currently on the front page of Lobsters https://lobste.rs/s/ef5wcv/are_we_loong_yet Yet I do not know what Loong is, and I can not find out from the https://areweloongyet.com website. I don't imagine this is intentional. My guess was that Loong is a CPU architecture and with some googling I could confirm that. There is a link to https://loongson.cn in the footer, but, well it's in the footer and it doesn't load for me in Brasil.

I just thought you might be interested to know about this experience for a curious newcomer.
