Does not work on GNOME Shell 3.38.3

Tested it in Ubuntu 21.04 with Gnome Shell 3.38.3 on Wayland.
After installation, I logged out and logged in. The extension showed up and the keyboard did not look at all like in the screen shot. Also there was some big black area above it that filled up the missing space compared to the original osk.
When logging out and in again, the extension was simply gone, it seems to get deleted automatically for no reason, the directory ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/improvedosk@luebke.io was simply gone afterwards. This is 100% reproducible:

1. Install extension using git clone
2. Log out and in
3. Extension is there. Now log out and in again
4. Extension is gone
