Should we host gitlab to provide gitlab pages support to lugs?

Gitlab pages is a service that allows lugs to use markdown and git to manage their sites (using software like Jekyll). We're currently using a cludge to do something very similar to populate the lug.org.uk index.

Gitlab would also give us a central place to move github.com/lugorguk to, and to manage ongoing additions of new LUGs, etc.

What are the pros and cons compared to making more use of GitLab's own hosting?

We've limited resources. It seems to me that concentrating those of what we have to provide is better than duplicating what can be offloaded.

Hmm, good point. Gitlab hosting can be done to a DNS name (e.g. some.lug.org.uk), as can GitHub although the two processes differ somewhat.

Maybe we should poll the Lugmasters to see what sort of interest there is? If there are many interested then it might be worth implementing, otherwise it might be a lot of work for a handful of people.
