Optional buffer value

What do you think of an optional buffer value (and maybe color) like most video players have.
Would be only visible on the non-animated part of course

Sorry I don't have the know-how to add that feature.
All I know is that some people / libraries solved that by overlapping the progress bar with another progress bar.

But not sure if thats the best way to do it
