Well... It might help to learn more about what you want in the payload. I think you are going to find you can send messages... and RNS will take care of the radio layer and break it up and assemble it on the other side.. all for you without you having to work hard at it. Let me start here: https://reticulum.network/manual/whatis.html There is a getting started fast, which should help you greatly. Then, if you keep reading that, there are even code examples! Then go to this page, and scroll down until you see the rncp utility. https://reticulum.network/manual/using.html When you have done that, you can then go back and look at all of the code examples, and you will be very much on your way. Hi! This looks like a fantastic network setup! I am interested in using Reticulum to communicate between 2 or more devices which have Semtech SX126x LoRa radios. I am currently sending custom payloads between the two, so have the hardware side working. I skimmed each page of the documentation. It's very good! But I seem to have a disconnect somewhere on how I would get started. For example, this is the primary page I found directly relevant to getting started: Understanding Reticulum. Specifically, the Wire Format section is important, as it has information on how to wrap your payloads.
This is part of, but not the complete picture. For example, I would expect info on how to assemble payloads that are split across multiple (<255 bytes per the Semtech RAM setup) packets, timing, syncing etc. So, I have something to start with, but am missing the complete picture. Is there a "getting started for noobs, without using GPOS software" Guide? Maybe something similar to a datasheet or protocol spec, that is hardware and software-agnostic? (Using rust on stm32, but that is likely not directly relevant) Thank you!
