Birthday notifications not being sent on Android 16

I have the FamilyGem app installed on 2 phones: one with Android 16 and the other with Android 10. The notification on the old phone works well.
The notification on my Google pixel 6, (Android 16) is not shown. Never, like it was never triggered. I believe it shall be verified if all the app run-time permissions are requested. I have never seen this app asking runtime permissions for sending notifications. It might be a bug/overlook for teh latest API levels

I'll add immediately that in my phone's notification settings, the FamilyGem application has the notifications enabled .

Please let me know when the issue might be addressed. I'm still using a different very old application to have the birthday notifications. I would like to start using 100% FamilyGam
