the mixer controls for rpi (iqaudio) dac pro looks very confusing, does anyone know whats the best setting for shairport sync?

Analogue: can only be set to 0dB or -6dB
Analogue playback boost: can only be set to 0dB gain or 0.80dB gain

Digital is the volume control

This looks the same as the IQaudIO DigiAmp+. I’ve never changed any setting except “Digital” which, like yourself, I use for the volume control. 🤷‍♂️

I think something about this device must be very similar to the Hifiberry dac+.

I just put one of these into service today.

Digital is indeed the volume control but likely best to leave at 100 and control volume by other means.

(although I personally have not been able to detect changes in the sound when changing that setting… although I didn’t give it a very critical listen)

Deemphasis seems to engage or disengage a digital deemphasis filter.

For now I’ve left everything at default on my end and it sounds fine.

Details: raspberry pi 3b+, raspberry pi (iaudioq) dac+ (I know not pro, but I think it has the same controls… whether they do anything is another story), raspberry pi os lite trixie, shairport-sync running in docker

I think you are right, this particular control layout must be for all Texas Instruments PCM5242 burr-brown dacs they use for hifiberry and iqaudio

and I noticed on hifiberry dac 2 pro disabling the onboard clock using dtoverlay as dac plus slave mode sounds better to me.
