I suggest to ask or ping the author of consult-dogears. See also #430 and https://github.com/minad/consult/wiki#dogears. |

I am a user of the dogears package and while it does come with a completing read interface, I would love for it to have a preview akin to consult-buffer.
I have tried implementing something like this by just basically creating a copy of consult-bookmarks and pointing it at the dogears-list, as they are basically stored in the same format to vanilla bookmarks.
I needed to do some processing on the entries nonetheless to get consult to accept them as bookmarks: I think that consult-bookmark expects the key for every bookmark to be the name of the buffer. And it seems that with that it only ever displays one entry per buffer, which in my case severely reduces its usefulness.
I wasn't able to find out why that's the case and I'm at my wits end. Also I am a beginner programmer, so I apologize if that's a stupid question. Does anybody have any pointers on how to move forward? Is it reasonable to move forward building on top of the bookmark foundation, or is it better to write something from scratch?
Thanks in advance!
