Single high F key stroke on a grand piano:

Note how high F (starting >2kHz+) generates a base spectrum starting at 25Hz (no, it was not an airplane passing over during the measurement, neither its the other, longer stings getting excited (they are held from vibrating by felt)

Spectrogram shows that the low content is present only just during the first ~40ms (1 period of 25Hz wave). (x axis in seconds):

Observation:

In order to exactly reproduce F key sound of a grand piano its required to dispose of a recording and reproduction system sensitive from 25Hz on. Registration or reproduction starting from any higher frequency, or still worse, just starting at the sustain frequency related to the F sound (e.g. after EQ-ing) would have caused information, and therefore sound quality loss.

I recommend to repeat this experiment on any other instrument, may it be small e.g. a guitar or even flute if you like.
In my knowledge this particular conclusion will hold regardless.
