If this is recompiled with ifort, the rest of the make then proceeds to completion

This particular problem is on the NOAA RDHPCS platform hercules but has also been observed on Ursa. Attempting to replicate elsewhere.

ifx 2025.1.0 has a compiler bug which prevented it from building the MARBL file mentioned in your log.

As far as we know this has been fixed in 2025.2. I have managed to successfully build with this version, although your context is probably very different.

What are the needed modules to load on gaeaC6 to get this compiler and the needed mpi stacks associated with it.

I see intel-oneapi/2025.2 and intel/2025.2 available on Gaea, and hopefully lmod sorts out the rest.

But I'd suggest we move any NOAA-specific chat to email or messages, to avoid spamming the rest of the MOM community.
