API in version 5?

I read in the blog, and also in the beta page for monica that the API is missing in versión 5. Is it going to be developed/enabled at any time?, that's the one thing that's keeping me to go to versión 5. Monica is amazing but there are a couple of things that I use the api for and has become a must for me.
