Try zepto.js

Substitute jQuery with Zepto and see how it works. The smaller library size would be good since only a tiny slice of jquery is used. Older browser support is dropped in zepto, which is fine since CP relies on HTML5 canvas and FileAPI. Would be good for mobile too, once CP supports that.
