Have you considered support subagent

generally, main agent can start subagent, and subagent will have progress
and result which would need to display to ui,
also main agent can start many subagents in parrallel,
so generally the progress and result report channel should
have some kind of sub_agent id and divide by multiplexing multiple channel.
