TCP Retransmission Storm - Wireshark Analysis

Dear ChromieCraft Team,

I experience frequent lag/disconnects due to massive TCP retransmissions between my client and server.

Technical details from Wireshark capture:

• Connection: 46.105.78.215:40000 (server) ↔ [my IP]:4112 (client)
• Timeframe: ~3962-3984s - 500+ retransmission packets
• TCP Spurious Retransmission (server sending Len=351-1452 bytes)
• TCP Retransmission both directions (server→Len91-1452, client→ACK Len=14)
• frame.timedelta between retransmits: 0.25-0.5ms

My network tests are clean:

• ping -l1400 46.105.78.215: 56-59ms, 0% loss (100+ packets tested)
• tracert final hop: stable 57ms
• Test-NetConnection 46.105.78.215:40000 = True
• MTU 1400 no fragmentation

Could you please take a look and help resolve this?

It does help to know what country and if you're using a VPN?

Because with 57ms to ping the sever is reasonable but the way to the server it seems where your issue is, could you be your ISP or can be Cloudflare, if this was a server wide issue it would be constant issue.

I'm from Russia. OVH subnets (your server 46.105.78.215) blocked by ISP. Using Europe server + Trojan VPN tunnel.

Connection stable:

• ping -l1400: 56-59ms 0% loss
• tracert: 57ms final hop
• Port 40000: OK

Frequent disconnects only on your WoW server.
Wireshark shows TCP retransmission storm during disconnects.
Could you check server TCP handling for VPN connections?

I'e stated in tickets for most recent russian players who had to change to VPNs and some even to a different VPN, we don't have any control what our Provider or Cloudflare blocks, and even less what if it's user's ISP or gorvement blocking, just in a week which was i think last tues or wednesday people could login into their accounts but not login in the world (meaning something is blocking them and changing their VPNs for those that used it worked, for those that didn't use it, by using it fixed for them also), but all of this is most likely Roskomnadzor's actions

And we don't use alternative connections/proxies as we don't have the team or the budget for such, unlike other servers may do.

Edit: I would love something similiar to this to exist but as stated above
