hey y'all! you gave me a format, so imma use it! 💬 Andrew Norcross, but y'all probably just know me as Norcross 🌍 Tampa, Florida (aka HurricaneVille) 💼 i'm currently a senior technical architect (i think? titles are weird) at Crowd Favorite. i previously led the team that replatformed nasa.gov ✌️ i have written many plugins. so many plugins. 🛠️ i want WordPress to survive, plain and simple. i've invested a lot of my life into this project and it matters to me how it is managed. and it's an opportunity to works with some folks in the community i've known for a long time, but never had the chance to do any real work with. 👩💻 if this were a car assembly, i'd be working on the engine or transmission. i like to get my hands dirty, and i'm learning javascript begrudgingly, but i'm always aware that there is more that i don't know. 🧩 i sorta fell into this space (and career) after a 10 year stint in the financial accounting and money management industries. this is better. i'm also just as likely to be swinging a hammer or using a drill on a project as i am a keyboard and screen. i like using my hands. 🔗 here is where you might find me: |

💬 Andy Fragen 🌍 Palm Springs, CA 💼 Well, I'm a trauma/acute care surgeon for going on 30 years. Currently I'm working on working less, AKA sliding into retirement. ✌️I write a lot of plugins, including Git Updater, I'm a WP Core contributor and still an Upgrade/Install component maintainer. Fun fact, I also maintain the WordPress Beta Tester plugin. 🛠️ I want WordPress to continue. I'm very excited for a more universal way to access plugins/themes that are outside of the official repository. 👩💻 I'm very much self-taught, that Pascal course I took in college was a long time ago. 😉 For a while I ran my own server (mail, CalDev, web, SFTP, fail2ban) was that silly. 🧩 This is my hobby. Fixing WordPress and helping ensure it survives. Along with @costdev, we added all the Rollback and Rollback Auto-Update code into Core. Try not to worry about updates ever again. I also enjoy my family and shooting candid photos. 🔗 Links: |

Moro! 💬 TImi Wahalahti, sometimes known as sippis on Internet 🌍 Jyväskylä, Finland 💼 I'm Senior Developer focused on back-end and devops stuff, as well as coordinating my employers WordPress community involvements and open source contributions at large ✌️Some core and meta contributions. On the events side I've volunteered, organized, lead and mentored. Improved and introduced processes in few Make WordPress teams. Helped to mediate conflicts between community members. 🛠️ WordPress is something very near and dear to my heart. I've used it since I first started playing with creating websites as a teenager, then earned little pocket change from doing small development work and now it has been my livelihood for whole adult life so far. The community around it has given and taught me a lot. I'm also glad to call some folks met at the community as my friends nowadays. I care deeply about the community, individuals in it and value open source principles very highly. So I guess I'm involved in FAIR because I care so deeply about WordPress and want to it to succeed also in the future. 👩💻 Your basic PHP and SQL stack, nginx, bash, python little here and there etc. I'm firm believer in keeping things simple and using tried and tested technologies instead of jumping hype bandwagon of new shiny things. 🧩 I'm avid sauna goer. During the winter cold water swims are the best in middle of löylys. On the summertime, I carry mustard all the time with me in case I get the urge to have sausage after sauna. 🔗 https://sipp.is is all that you need, rest will be found there |

💬 Hi, I'm Chuck. I don't really go by nicks anymore except maybe for "chaz" in my domain/email but everyone in real life just calls me Chuck. 🌍 Colorado, USA. 💼 I'm a software engineer who's usually worked in small groups in large companies, but now I'm with a tiny web shop of about 8 people. I'm mostly self-taught in a variety of programming languages and paradigms, but also picked up enough formal CS from school to skim through papers and hold up my end of a theory conversation. ✌️I've been around open source culture for decades, chipped in a bug report or simple patch on rare occasion, but never gotten my hands dirty to this extent, most of my work has and still comes from my day job. 🛠️ WordPress and I have a contentious relationship for most of my programming life, much of it extending to PHP in general. My professional and hobby backgrounds both include a lot of languages and tech that frankly blow the doors off of PHP and WP, but nonetheless I still make a living in PHP, and even enjoy it. But while PHP has dramatically improved over the last 10 years, WP has not shared in the wealth, and in my opinion has even been actively held back. Which leads me to the next, non-template bullet point: ✊ I've always thought of WP as a platform "for the people", because it's thousands of people making themes and plugins that make the platform what it is. However, I don't see the community receiving the acknowledgment or respect it deserves, and projects like AP and FAIR are a way of taking back the control that by all rights should always have been ours. 👩💻 I've collected a lot of programming languages and technologies over the years ranging from Perl and PHP, to C++ and Java, to Haskell and Lisp (and plenty more that I bet you've never heard of). I'll talk the ears off anyone who will listen about topics like programming language technologies and category theory. If I have an occupational specialty, it would be in modernizing legacy code, and I sometimes give myself the title of "Technical Debt Collector". The WP codebase represents not only a large and interesting (and slightly perverse) challenge in that area, it'll be a learning experience in getting the community to come along for the ride, hopefully making the ride smooth enough that most people stay on board. 🧩 Aside from the tech stuff, I'm also into the Colorado craft beer/brewery scene (there's nearly 500 breweries in CO alone), as well as the Society for Creative Anachronism (sca.org). 🔗 I don't do the big social media panopticons. Mastodon might be acceptable to me, but I just don't get excited by the format, and prefer more traditional discussion boards like Hacker News (where I go by my name) and Reddit (where I'm still pseudonymous and prefer to not explicitly connect my identity in a durable forum like this). |

💬 Bonjour, Mika ici. Call me Mika, call me ipstenu (I prefer the uppercase I, but since fonts make it look like a lowercase L...). Pronouns are she/her 🌍 Southern California, USA 💼 One of the first TSC chairs, former mistress of .org plugins, former wrangler of .org support, originator of the WTFBBQ posts, WP dev for various places. ✌️You probably know me for WordPress.org support and plugins, but I also was a WikiPedia Editor (the kind who does extra work and finds bugs), and helped out so many random projects I can't even remember anymore... I am a code socialist - I really think that all of us together can make things better. 🛠️ I wanted to join FAIR because since 2019 I've seen the wheels start to come off how WP handled updates and plugins. I have no regrets for the work I did on plugins, but I was first party to a lot of the flaws in the process and the fact that it was actually stifling innovation and growth. If we could change that, fix that so things were more open, then we could catapult WP into being more than 'just a blog' (people still say that, I know) and maybe become a full blown dev platform. 👩💻 I know a lot of PHP, I'm getting up to speed on Laravel and Go, I know some python and shell script and I was one the maintainer of a DOS-16 (yes) script used by a fortune 500 bank. It's kinda weird. My superpower is seeing into the soul of the code. 🧩 I bake bagels every week and I root for the baseball team the Cleveland Guardians (and yes, I approve of the new name) 🔗 Find me at https://halfelf.org - things are linked off there. |

💬 Hey 👋 I'm Colin Stewart (costdev in most places). 🌍 I'm based in Belfast, Ireland. 💼 I've been a developer for ~22 years now, since I was 13. I started working as a freelance developer for a number of years as soon as I was legally allowed to work. My day job is as a web developer at a media worker co-operative, aptly named Creative Workers Co-operative. I was a founding member and a director of the co-operative from 2012-2019, when I stepped down to focus on development. Per the co-operative tradition of skill-sharing, prior to stepping down I was a developer, primary animator, sound engineer for film shoots, first/second AC (cameraperson) on film shoots, editor, accounts manager, legal manager, something else I forget now 🤔, and when absolutely necessary, dabbled a bit in simple graphic design tasks 😅. ✌️ My main contributions have been to WordPress Core. I started contributing to WordPress Core in 2021, and since then, I was on the release squads for WordPress 6.0 and 6.2 as Triage Lead for US/EU, became a maintainer of the Upgrade/Install and Filesystem API components, and became a WordPress Core committer. As well as working in most areas of WordPress Core, I've also worked on several major features, including Rollback, Rollback Auto Updates, and Plugin Dependencies (shoutout to @afragen tap tap peace). I've contributed to several plugins, and started contributing to PHP CodeSniffer not long ago. While I've never been officially sponsored (yet), I do have a few sponsors on GitHub (big shoutout to them!), and was gifted the Yoast Care Fund a couple of years ago. 🛠️ FAIR is a clear improvement for the ecosystem. It removes the reliance on a single source - a single point of failure - and opens the distribution of extensions, translations, and more to others. It's an important part of an open and free ecosystem. I hope to contribute with knowledge I gained working with WordPress and contributing to WordPress Core, and I hope to get to know everyone here better, and learn from your wealth of experience in enterprise and other areas I might have less familiarity with too. 👩💻 Over the years I've learned, worked with, or tinkered with PHP, HTML, JS, CSS, SQL, Python, C++, C#, Java, VB.net, LUA, Pascal, and several others that escape my memory at the moment. I used to make several mods or addons for games, and originally taught myself and was then educated for game development. I did quite well, getting 18/18 distinctions in one course, and 15 distinctions/1 merit in another. Despite that, I decided to leave games and native software for leisure, and instead pursued a career in web-based development. Most of my work is with PHP/HTML/JS/CSS these days, but I'm still fairly functional with the others. I mainly work in VS Code these days, though I've gone through quite a few others over the years. 🧩 Probably the most unexpected bug I ever discovered was a flaw in my school's network security when I was 16. I was (ahem) "teaching myself about network security", and the systems administrator walked past as I was (ahem) "checking the write permissions on my user profile's config file". I was awarded a bounty; a ban from the school computers for a time. While not exactly the bounty I would have liked, I had also seen the profanity filter list, and learned many new words I never knew existed prior to that. In terms of hobbies, I enjoy playing the guitar, games, and I've been enjoying getting away on pretty regular weekend breaks with my fiancé recently. I won a game of crazy golf today, and I will not let it go until I get my trophy. 🔗 Here's some of my profiles: |

Name / Handle: Siobhan 🌍 Where are you based? I'm from Belfast, but I'm based in the North-East of England. 💼 What do you do? I run operations at Patchstack, a pretty awesome cybersecurity platform for open source 💚 ✌️Already contributed to open source? I started contributing to WordPress back in 2011! Feels like only yesterday 😅. Over the years I've made all sorts of contributions: participating in the documentation team including building developer.wordpress.org, one of thefounders of WordCamp Europe, founded WordCamp London, been involved in developing the WordCamp programme, wrote a book about the first ten years of the project, participated in a number of WP releases, particularly around inline content and help. 🛠️ Why do you want to get involved with the FAIR project? What interests you about it? What do you hope to contribute or learn? It is really exciting to be involved in a new open source project at its very early stages! I’m a big FOSS advocate and think that we can make the web better with the free and open distribution of software. There's a lot of buzz around being involved in something new and creating a new community which is open and welcoming, and which is reimagining the future of open source web publishing. I’m interested in web security and sustainability and how we make sure web publishing remains open and accessible to all. 👩💻 Tech stack / Skills / Interests: What languages or tools do you use? Any specialties? Any super powers? Historically I’ve been very involved in documentation, event organising, and community management. I’m pretty good at taking technical concepts and translating them for everyone. I’m also good at organising communities and getting things shipped! 🧩 Fun fact or hobby: Tell us something random about yourself! Your favourite beverage, weirdest bug you ever fixed, or a hobby you love. I’m a pretty avid scuba diver and I spent a year travelling the world to different WordCamps and scuba diving in between. |

Hello party people! 💬 I'm Ryan McCue (he/him), you might have seen me around! I'm rmccue most places. 🌍 Originally from Australia, but now based in the sunny climes of Edinburgh, Scotland. 💼 I've been creating software for the past 22ish years. While I'm traditionally a developer, these days I also do a lot of management, sales, marketing and other startup-y roles - basically whatever needs doing. On FAIR, I'm one of the TSC Co-Chairs, alongside @cdils and @Ipstenu. ✌️I've been contributing to open source right since I started programming, and I've been using and contributing to WordPress for about 19 years now. I created the WordPress REST API project, and lead it from creation to merge into core. I also created the Requests library (used by WordPress and others to make HTTP requests), as well as many other smaller projects. 🛠️ We have the opportunity with FAIR to build the next generation of the WordPress ecosystem, unlocking the potential of the open development community while simultaneously stitching together the current fragmented distribution system. Not only can we help integrate alternative vendor sources back into the fold, benefitting users, but we also have an amazing opportunity to level up security and trust in the system in the process. 👩💻 I'm an everything developer - from CSS through to Rust and C, I'm always ready to pick the best technology to suit the task at hand. At the end of the day, I believe in solving problems first, not writing code for the sake of it, so whatever gets the job done. 🧩 WordPress used to use 🔗 Find me online at https://rmccue.io/ and on Bluesky as @rmccue.io. ✌️ |

💬 Howdy! I'm Carrie Dils, or 🌍 Fort Worth, TX, USA (not to be confused with Dallas!) 💼 I'm self-employed and spend most of my time doing consulting and development work for clients. I also teach WordPress and front-end dev courses for LinkedIn Learning. ✌️ My earliest contributions to the WordPress open source project started in 2013 and revolved around community - organizing and speaking at local meetups, organizing local WordCamps, and eventually co-organizing WCUS 2019, speaking at WCEU 2023 and WCUS 2024. I've also made a ton of informal contributions doing things like answering questions in support forums around the web, posting tutorials, writing docs, testing beta releases, and generally being a cheerleader for the WordPress project. With the FAIR release, I'm excited to step into the word of broader open source communities and contributions. 🛠️ Over the past ~6ish months I've been working with some ridiculously smart and talented folks on the FAIR release. I'm also honored to serve as one of the Co-Chairs for FAIR's Technical Steering Committee, with @rmccue and @Ipstenu. I believe the future success of WordPress lies in a modern, decentralized approach to software distribution, and, most importantly, transparent governance. 👩💻 My web dev career started in the late 90's with an introduction to HTML and CSS. It didn't take long until I was building dynamic sites with ASP (and eventually .NET) and trying my hand at SQL Server database design to build a rudimentary CMS. I eventually learned PHP when I found myself working on client sites hosted on Linux boxes. These days I'm primarily using PHP to building out custom functionality and themes, and wielding my CSS 🪄 to make sites match a designer's intent. 🧩 I can "play" the harmonica with my nose. 🔗 Links: |

Hey y'all! Stoked to be here and looking forward to getting to know everyone. Let's do this thing… 💬 Jason Cosper is what the straight world calls me. 🌍 Currently holding it down in Bakersfield, CA. 💼 I run a humble WordPress performance consultancy called Little Room, and serve as the admin for a friendly lil Mastodon instance, ✌️ I've been kicking around the WordPress community for two decades now. Back in the day, I helped organize BarCampLA and started the Los Angeles WordPress User Group — way before meetups were a thing. I've also released a handful of plugins and userscripts over the years when I've found an itch that needs scratching. 🛠️ Why do I want to get involved with the FAIR project? Honestly? I love the plumbing of the internet. My whole career is built around making the web faster and more reliable, and I feel like FAIR’s package manager is going to be a foundational piece of that. I'm hoping to contribute to something that helps a lot of people, pick up a few new tricks, and make some new pals along the way. 👩💻 I spend most of my time fiddling with PHP, JavaScript, and CSS — but I’ve been expanding into mucking about with Python and Go as well. My happy place is the command line and getting elbows deep in server configs. 🧩 I am a passionate cinephile who loves everything from stone-cold classics (Citizen Kane, Double Indemnity) to video store favorites (Repo Man, Big Trouble in Little China). The televisions in our house are almost always tuned to Turner Classic Movies or streaming a recent release. One day, I plan on opening my own microcinema here in Bakersfield. 🔗 Elsewhere:

💬 Name / Handle: Joe Dolson, going by the clever and incredibly mysterious handle of joedolson pretty much everywhere on the web for the last 20+ years. 🌍 Where are you based? Based in Saint Paul, MN. 💼 What do you do? I'm an accessibility consultant, providing WCAG auditing and custom development primarily for non-profit organizations in the disability services space. I'm also a plugin author and a part-time sponsored WordPress contributor and core committer. I'm also one of the founders and current lead organizers for the WP Accessibility Day annual event and non-profit organization. ✌️Already contributed to open source? I've been contributing to the WordPress project since 2011, became a core committer in 2019, and became a sponsored contributor in 2022. In May 2025 I adopted the open source media player Able Player, and am the lead developer for that project. 🛠️ Why do you want to get involved with the FAIR project? I got involved in the FAIR project because the idea of a decentralized repository system offers significant increases in stability and opportunity for the ecosystem, and I wanted to make sure that as we move forward, the concerns of people with disabilities were a first-level concern on how we construct interfaces within this new system. 👩💻 Tech stack / Skills / Interests? I can fly and turn invisible, but unfortunately it causes a terrible buzzing in my ears, so I don't. 🧩 Fun fact or hobby: I'm also a violinist, and am the associate concertmaster of the Twin Cities' LGBTQA affilliated orchestra, the Minnesota Philharmonic, and have a baroque chamber ensemble called Sospiri. |

Good morning from Vancouver, Canada on the beautiful west coast. 🌍 Canada 💼 Owner/Operator of WPBarista since 2008. We serve content creators (nee Bloggers). With 2 failed businesses under my belt. Just getting started! ✌️Not a coder. Know enough php to use hooks. And try not to do that anymore. I stick to KadenceWP & WP 🛠️ Need to understand what is happening in WP so I can intelligently guide our clients for their long term success. Incredibly grateful to Matt & Automattic for all their work to date. 👩💻 I looooooove psychology research and intersection with sales and UX.
