How to refer parent fields in a Sub query?

I got this table called rune which contain a field weapon that references a weapon's id from the weapon table.
I want to get all the runes associated with this weapon, so I wrote this but this isn't working. I can't alias the table like in normal SQL either.
So, how exactly should I get the field from parent table?

SELECT
  id, name, (SELECT * FROM rune WHERE weapon == weapon.id) AS runes
FROM weapon

The parent keyword will probably be what you're looking for, so something like:
(SELECT * FROM rune WHERE weapon == $parent.weapon.id) AS runes would provide the desired result

Not that i've been able to find, though someone may be able to correct me - The most i found on it is a note on the Release 0.30 Patch notes
"Ensure subqueries can access encoding parent query and grand-parent queries" which may or may not be referring to this feature specifically

It is working, but should use $parent.id instead, as the $parent is the weapon instance I guess

(SELECT * FROM rune WHERE weapon == $parent.id) AS runes

Ah, sorry i noticed a slight mistake here. $parent.id should be correct, as "$parent" would equate to weapon making it weapon.id That mistake came from my own experimentation where i was using an array of entries in a field like $parent.items[*].type with that being translated to order.items[*].type
