Support for transition effect

Great library, thank you! I have a question regarding the transition effect. I noticed that it isn’t supported for edit and combo boxes. Microsoft’s modern Save/Open dialogs use it, and Explorer++ also has it implemented (Settings):

It is because Explorer++ is using only theme and does not handle WM_PAINT messages. Implementing dark mode using theme is simple, but it doesn't allow to use other colors and mainly not all controls have dark theme. Darkmodelib also has option to prefer theme over subclassing with WM_PAINT handling. Unfortunately implementing custom paint is complex so not all visual effects are implemented. I will look into it later when I have time.

I understand, thanks for the info. Which controls don’t support dark mode? I assume this is something that will evolve in newer versions of Windows? #8

Officially every, if with undocumented API or via subclassing than only date time picker, month calendar, message box and pager. Except for pager I plan to support them later. Also some controls with specific style are not supported yet.

If you mean for controls which can be made dark with SetWindowTheme, than only "common" ones, like push buttons, scroll bars, combo boxes, ... And even if they can use SetWindowTheme not every variant is supported, e.g. multiline edit control won't have dark scroll bar, with #8 progress bar with marquee style won't be affected by SetWindowTheme. And you also needs to have "latest" Windows OS build, which is not ideal for people still using "old" Windows 10 due to hardware limitation.
