Caret and selection don't seem right inside the inputfield

In the sentence "سلام عليكم", when I try to move my caret (the blinking line that shows where the next character will be typed) to the start of "عليكم", it appears like this: ع**|ليكم instead of عليكم|**

The caret can’t move to the beginning of the word. It always appears after the first letter of each word.

Also, when I try to select the whole word "عليكم" and cut the text, it only cuts"عليك" and leaves out the last letter of the word "م".
