I confirm this bug has not already been reported

  • I have searched the issues and this bug has not been reported previously

Describe the bug
quickget a compatible OS and then try to boot it with quickemu. It will fail.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour (from an arm64 machine):

  1. quickget ubuntu 25.10
  2. quickemu --vm ubuntu-25.10.conf

Expected behaviour
It should boot.

quickreport doesn't exist on my system.

I am running:

  • macOS v15.7.3
  • Macbook Pro M1
  • quickget/emu installed via Homebrew
  • QuickEmu v4.9.9

I took a look at the arm64 PR (#1820) and I found this snippet:

Write arch="aarch64" for ARM64 guest configs

So I took a look at the config file and that line isn't there. I remade the VM folder, added the line to the config, and now the VM boots. So it looks to me that that line is mistakenly not being added.

After booting though, both Ubuntu and Fedora seem to freeze up at the logo screens. For Fedora its the screen with the rocket ship. Not sure why yet.
