Feature Request - Add target property to redirect

I would like to have a menubar item in the left sidebar that when clicked opens a new tab/window and goes to a page. Currently I'm using redirect, but that doesn't allow me to open it in a new tab/window.

Any workarounds?

Agreed. This would be useful. We will try and implement this functionality in an upcoming release.
