2FA Code generator and Biometric login support

Looking at the application trends login using biometric, window hello, etc seems to become a norm. Lack of such support makes the login look out of date, but supporting it can give boost to a hackathon attendee by earning them points for extra security measures.
Most applications now also support 2FA using code generator apps.

The scope of this GitHub issue at this point is to investigate potential options to implement such security features and assess how they could be added without becoming a blocker or means to slow devs/users during events.

This may need to be reworked, as there is a chance we may need to move off of passport.js since its owner hasn't been maintaining it. We have had a few different patches to get the existing passport stuff to work for the past nine months or so https://github.com/sahat/hackathon-starter/tree/master/patches .
