I'm really eager to use sled in a project. When does the community think a 1.0.0 release will arrive? I see sled
v1.0.0-alpha.124 from about a year ago and then nothing...

I’m not sure if I can (or should) suggest alternatives here, but the sled project seems to be stalled. It’s been 8 months since the last commit.

So, here’s my recommendation: Fjall, an embedded database that is mature and still actively being developed. It recently reached version 3.0 a few days ago. The developer even creates insightful blog posts about new releases, including a wealth of graphics and details that instill confidence in the project. To be totally fair, komora is supposed to be sled's next storage engine and it did get a commit from two months ago: https://github.com/komora-io/marble/commits/main/
