Hi, I'm Jessica πŸ‘‹ - a Software Engineer building open source tools that quietly power software you use every day.

My most popular project, pypandoc, is a Python wrapper around Pandoc for document conversion. With over 14 million downloads per month across pypandoc and pypandoc_binary, it's the kind of library you've probably never heard of β€” but the companies you rely on have.
pypandoc is used in production by Adobe, Apple, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, OpenAI, PayPal, Mozilla, Booking.com, Algolia, and Databricks β€” among many others.

Here's the thing about infrastructure libraries: they're invisible. pypandoc is buried two or three layers deep in dependency trees, silently converting documents and helping run release workflows, so engineers at massive companies never have to think about it. That invisibility is a feature for users, but it means the maintainer (me) gets zero of the value captured.

I maintain pypandoc and several other projects solo, handling issues, PRs, releases, and compatibility across Python versions. Sponsoring me means investing in the foundation layer that your tools depend on.

The math is simple. If pypandoc breaks, engineers at dozens of Fortune 500 companies scramble. One maintainer keeping it healthy costs less than one incident at one company.

Open source has a free-rider problem. You can be part of the fix.
