Local file upload of GPX fails (produces too few nodes)

I attempted to reduce the size of a 5.3 MB GPX file using https://labs.easyblog.it/maps/gpx-simplify-optimizer/. When I drag the file to the website, it shows the original file as 525 Bytes in GPX rather than the full size. The unoptimized node count is 18, so I think most of the track is not loading for some reason.

Here is the GPX track: 2020-09-25_long-trial-sobo.zip (zip compressed to make GitHub Issues happy). From a recent hike of the Long Trail in Vermont with @greenguy33 and @jakepc7.

Any ideas on why the upload fails or what to do?
