What techniques does Instagram employ to detect automation?

Other than the basics of proxies, IP reputation, etc. I'm wondering if Instagram uses User Interaction Data to figure out the request flow origin. Meaning, did the request come as a consequence of the user tapping a button on the app, or did the request come out of nowhere – as it usually does if we're using the private API.

I obtained more than 100 pieces of user data. On average, one piece of data took 1.5 minutes, and automatic program recognition was triggered within 5 hours. I’m also curious about how Instagram discovered it.

If a request to their API (e.g., liking a post or following a user) lacks a preceding client-side event, that’s a strong signal of automation.
