Immediate White Screen then CTD

Windows 10 / 3060 Ti

I follow the directions on the download page. When I try to launch vkQuake.exe there is a momentary flash of white screen, and that is all that happens. I can run vkQuake on its own just fine. I have the .pak files in place. I've tried running as administrator and various compatibility modes. Updated my graphics drivers and rebooted. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Are you using v1.0.1?

It is not possible to run vkQuake.exe "on its own" as it has no game data files without the game data files (.pak).
