Description
As I understand it anime is typically produced at 24fps in a 30fps container, and that 24fps is typically made up of 1-2 duplicates per new frame, yet the gpu upscales 30 frames individually despite as few as 8 being truly unique.
Would it be possible to add a deduplication pass that preserves the video timing or otherwise edit the video file with other software to effectively reduce the gpu demand of the upscaler?
In other words
Now: 30 frames in, GPU upscales 30 frames, 30 frames out
After: 30 Frames in, analysis pass identifies that 22 are duplicates, upscales 8 frames and duplicates them into their former positions, 30 frames out
Apologies if this is a stupid question.
