Version 16.0 changelog is unclear

Expected behavior

Changelog should state clearly what has changed. Changes should be linked to either github issues or documentation pages.

Actual behavior

Changelog contains:

I have no idea what "folder expansion behavior" means. I have no idea which setting it refers to, and where I can find it. I have no idea what options the new setting now offers.

Side note: there is a setting "Expand Folders" in "Display" but enabling it makes no difference in behavior as far as I can see.

The folder expansion setting allows users to configure how nested folders should display by default. Either collapsed or fully expanded with all sub folders visible without clicking them. See #10077

Exactly, this is what I would like to see in the changelog. At least the link to the PR or, better yet, its related issue (I believe such a changelog can be automatically generated by github). Plus a note that the new setting only applies to nested folders. Because I don't have any the new setting has no effect whatsoever for me (and I guess the majority of users).

The problem is the play store notes are limited to 500 characters so we can't even add all the release notes.

Or are you referring to the notes in the app? I'm not sure if they're limited, maybe we can make changes there.

I was mainly referring to the changelog in the app (Settings -> About -> Version). I assume that is also what is displayed on first start after an update?

If you need to keep that short because of stupid play store rules that's fine with me.

May I suggest to provide a detailed changelog with links to issues/PRs on the github release page, and just add a link to that to the changelog text that you upload to play store, f-droid, and include in the app?
