I got this error during installation:

TidalCycles v1.9.3 [Approved]
tidalcycles package files install completed. Performing other installation steps.
ERROR: The term 'Get-ChocolateyPath' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
The install of tidalcycles was NOT successful.
Error while running 'C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\TidalCycles\tools\chocolateyinstall.ps1'.
 See log for details.

Turns out I had a very old version of chocolatey (1.1.0) - upgrading chocolatey fixed the problem

From:
https://docs.chocolatey.org/en-us/create/functions/get-chocolateypath

Available in 1.2.0+.

chocolatey >= 1.2.0 should be a dependency
