ti create: alloy by default?

Description

Currently if you create a new project you have to do ti create --alloy to create an Alloy project with one line. Otherwise it's ti create + alloy new in the project folder.

Should we start defaulting to an Alloy project and add a --classic parameter in case people want to create a classic structure?

We would need to adjust the editor packages if we do that.

As long as Alloy is an additional framework for the SDK, I don't think that's a good idea.

Besides the editors a simple

npm install -g titanium
ti sdk install
ti create

would then no longer work.

P.S.: I don't usually use Alloy 😬

oh, you are right! won't work when it is not installed. Maybe we should just add it as a step in the CLI flow:

"create app|module" -> [app] -> check if alloy is installed -> "create classic or alloy app"...

I'm cool with this, however I envision this being a temporary thing. There's really no reason to put the create command in the SDK. I want to move the create command to the Titanium CLI. I want to fold https://github.com/tidev/template-kit into node-titanium-sdk. We have a bunch of templates that are not currently being used: https://github.com/tidev/titanium-templates. Not sure if we publish those templates as npm packages or just ship them with the CLI or node-titanium-sdk. I think the latter.

I'll test #14387 as soon as I can. Nice work!
