Question

Hello Trilinos developers,

I am currently studying optimization-based mesh smoothing methods for ALE and moving-domain problems, and I noticed that Mesquite is referenced in many previous works as a mature and widely used mesh quality improvement toolkit.

I would like to ask a few clarification questions regarding Mesquite from the Trilinos community:

  1. Where is the most up-to-date or authoritative documentation for learning and using Mesquite today?
  2. Are there any recommended tutorials, user guides, or example codes (either within Trilinos or external) that you would suggest for new users interested in optimization-based mesh smoothing?

I am mainly interested in Mesquite as an optimization-based reference method (e.g., vertex-movement-based mesh smoothing), rather than as part of a full Trilinos solver stack.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and for maintaining Trilinos.

Best regards
