Hello everyone, I am Kolawole, a cybersecurity, network and code enthusiast. I am relatively new to the open source space but I am fast adapting and I am very excited to contribute to the University Of Alaska Anchorage open source project. Spent the past few weeks familiarising with L4S and DICOM endpoints hoping to use them to contribute to open source. I am familiar with Linux, Network & Network Protocols, PHP, Python, Javascript and other similar technologies. I look forward to connecting with the mentors and fellow prospective contributors. |

Hey guys, I am Abhiram a sophomore at NITT, My primary domain is devOps, other than that I mainly work in backend, cybersecurity, and Blockchain. I really like the philosophy behind open source and decentralization but due to prior commitments I was not able to work on them during my first year but now I have been active in the open source community for the past 7 to 8 months, other than that right now I am actively working with my club to improve my collage tech infrastructure and building a project for a startup that's being incubated by NTU Singapore. I look forward to contributing to the University of Alaska Anchorage Open Source Project and would love to get in touch with Project Mentors and fellow contributors. |

Hello everyone, I'm Yash Kumar, and I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Data Science at The University of British Columbia. My expertise lies in data analysis, machine learning, and deep learning. I've developed and deployed various applications, such as a CNN-Based Pneumonia Detection Web App on GCP App Engine, an iOS app for plant disease identification, and web apps for human activity recognition and breast cancer dataset analysis. I've also gained practical experience through a data science internship where I applied K-means clustering to determine centroids and DBSCAN to detect outliers in analysing transportation data. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to contribute. Yash Kumar |

Hello everyone, I’m Trishya Gupta, a BTech Computer Science (AI specialization) student from Lucknow University, India, with a strong interest in data-driven systems, applied AI, and interactive web-based visualization. I’ve worked on projects such as a Smart E-Commerce Product Comparison & Recommendation Engine and a Movie Recommendation System, where I gained hands-on experience in data preprocessing, metric design, and system integration. I also have skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL, and have contributed to open-source projects in the OpenCV ecosystem, which strengthened my ability to navigate large codebases and collaborate effectively in community-driven workflows. I am particularly interested in Project #9: Telehealth Effectiveness and Necessity Tracker for Alaska, as combining healthcare access metrics with Internet performance data to visualize healthcare deserts aligns closely with my skills and interests. Since the project is currently in the research stage and there are no open issues yet, I would like to start contributing in any way that is most useful — whether through data exploration, metric prototyping, or initial visualization work. I look forward to learning from the community, contributing meaningfully, and engaging in technical discussions to advance the project. Best regards, |

Hello everyone 👋 I’m Ayush, a Computer Science undergraduate with strong interests in backend development, APIs, and applied AI/ML. I have hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, and data-driven systems, and I enjoy understanding existing codebases and improving them thoughtfully rather than rushing into changes. I’m particularly interested in research-oriented and real-world impact projects, especially those involving data analysis, system design, or ML-backed tooling. I’m currently exploring the UAA GSoC ideas to understand project goals and architecture before contributing. I’m here to learn, participate in technical discussions, and contribute meaningfully—whether through code, documentation, or design insights. Looking forward to interacting with mentors and fellow contributors. Thanks, and excited to be part of the community! |

Hi @pradeeban , I am Divakar Daya, a 2nd-year Data science student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. I am writing to express my interest in contributing to Alaska as a GSoC 2025 contributor. I love working on applied Machine Learning and AI systems, particularly in building end-to-end, production-oriented ML pipelines. I have hands-on experience designing multi-agent AI systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows, and data-driven predictive models, and I enjoy working at the intersection of research ideas and deployable software. Recently, I have worked on:
My technical stack includes Python, ML/AI, LLM systems, data analysis, and backend development, with experience using tools such as Docker, Git/GitHub, Streamlit, and modern ML frameworks. I am comfortable spending time deeply understanding existing codebases, research context, and design decisions before contributing meaningful pull requests. I have attached my CV and included relevant links below for reference:
I would be excited to contribute steadily to open-source efforts and align my work closely with the group’s long-term goals. If there are particular repositories or components where you believe sustained contributions would be most valuable, I would be happy to start there. Thank you for your time and for supporting contributors in the open-source community. Best regards, |

Hello everyone o/, I am Mohammad Ibrahim, an undergraduate student at IIT Roorkee studying Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. I have actively contributed to open-source for the past 4 years and recently have been focusing on ML/DL projects. My project of interest for GSoC'26 is https://github.com/YaliWang2019/AK-Satellite-Imagery-Wildfire-Prediction due to its inclination in DL, particularly the CNN-LSTM hybrid approach, my expertise in the domain, and the challenge of integrating satellite imagery with ground based data while handling potential inconsistencies and contradictions between different data sources. |

Hello everyone, I am Priti Gupta, a Final Year Computer Science undergraduate at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, with interests in applied AI/ML and building practical systems for healthcare and research. While going through the project ideas, the Behavioral Health Vault (BHV) particularly caught my attention because of its focus on privacy, minimal deployment, and its potential to support both patients and researchers. I really like the direction of creating a system that is simple for clinics to run while still being powerful enough for meaningful analysis. I have started exploring the repository at https://github.com/KathiraveluLab/BHV and am excited to understand the workflows and contribution areas. In my previous work, I have built AI-driven applications such as a telemedicine platform and tools for interacting with documents. Through these, I learned that real impact comes from good system design, ease of use, and responsible handling of sensitive data, not only from models. I am comfortable working with Python, backend development, and databases, and I can also help on the frontend side when required. I also have research exposure, including a publication at ICCNT 2025, and I am interested in contributing to projects that connect engineering with real-world outcomes. I will be spending time understanding BHV in depth and hope to contribute through discussions, documentation, and code improvements. GitHub: https://github.com/priti200 I am looking forward to learning from everyone and contributing to the community. |

Hi everyone, I’m Aspita Sunday, an incoming MSc Data Science student and founder of AspitaTech. My research focuses on evaluation benchmarks for low-resource environments (specifically African linguistic data), where I specialize in F1-score analysis, Confusion Matrices, and unsloth/LoRA fine-tuning. I attended the recent session on Alaska’s GSoC goals and was compelled by the Beehive (Health Metrics) and Erosion Modeling projects. The challenge of deploying robust metrics in "data deserts" (like Alaska) mirrors the work I currently do for ProverbEval in Nigeria. I am not just looking to "code"; I am looking to apply rigorous data evaluation to these critical problems. I have already cloned the Beehive repo and am reviewing the metric implementation. Looking forward to contributing to the 2026 cohort |
