Tab Freeze Glitch in Sober

I know this is kind of dumb, since the tab freeze thing came from Windows itself. But is there any Sober/Linux equivalent to freezing the client? I just want to do physics tech but unfortunately it involves doing the tab glitch on Windows. I just need anything that freezes the game, even just for a few seconds.

in case you haven't figured this out yet, what i did was create two keyboard shortcuts
one freezes sober by running kill -STOP $(pgrep sober) and another unfreezes it by running kill -CONT $(pgrep sober)

systemctl --user --signal=18 kill app-flatpak-org.vinegarhq.Sober* to unfreeze

the freeze command by @cnvy0 has a huge delay
