Update docs on README

Currently, the README still describes just the development steps for building and running the project. Ideally, we'd want a section before this to explain what the app does, and the different features the team developed. It would be nice if every member of the team can add a little bit about their feature work, just a sentence or two, as they're submitting new code.

As an example, this is a chat app repository that I found randomly searching Github, see how their README tries to make a case for why you should try out their app, with screenshots and all. A bit of marketing goes a long way here! :)

Would creating a branch that is only for updating the README be beneficial? That way we can also have the same content as we update it?

You can include the README changes alongside your code changes in the same PR, but if you didn't, it's totally worth creating a separate PR.
