ARES Installer v1.0.0

Windows installer for ARES MicroStation Add-in.

🚀 Quick Start

  1. Download AresInstaller.exe below
  2. Run as administrator
  3. Select your language (English/Français)
  4. Click Install
  5. Select product for auto load VBA project on StartUp

⚠️ Important

Windows Defender Warning:

If Windows SmartScreen blocks the installer:

  • Click "More info"
  • Click "Run anyway"

This happens because the executable is not yet digitally signed. The installer is safe and open-source.

📋 System Requirements

  • Windows 7/10/11
  • .NET Framework 4.7.2 or higher
  • Administrator privileges
  • Internet connection (for downloading components)

🔧 What It Does

The installer automatically:

  • Downloads latest ARES components from GitHub
  • Installs files to C:\ARES\
  • Registers COM components
  • Add ARES.mvba on auto load variable

📦 Components Installed

  • ARES.mvba - Main project
  • AresLicenseValidator.dll - License validation

🆘 Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please check:

  • .NET Framework 4.7.2+ is installed
  • Antivirus is not blocking the installer
