Overview

MPLP (Multi-Agent Lifecycle Protocol) defines a vendor-neutral lifecycle specification for agentic systems—covering Context → Plan → Confirm → Trace, plus governed observability, multi-agent collaboration, and controlled recovery patterns.

This release marks the canonical v1.0.0 Frozen Specification.

What “Frozen” Means in v1.0.0

  • Normative semantics are locked. Any normative change requires a new protocol version via MPGC governance.
  • v1.x has no breaking changes to the v1.0.0 normative schema surface.
  • Non-normative updates (docs presentation, clarifications, CI hardening, packaging, examples) may continue, but do not change protocol requirements.

What’s Included

L1/L2 Protocol Surface

  • Normative JSON Schemas for the MPLP protocol modules (v1.0.0 baseline)
  • Cross-cutting duties specification (kernel duties) and lifecycle invariants guidance

Conformance & Evaluation Assets (Non-Normative)

  • Golden Flows (GF-01 ~ GF-05) as lifecycle invariant scenarios
  • Evidence model / conformance references for auditability

Governance (Public)

  • MPGC governance materials relevant to v1.0.0 frozen semantics
  • Release boundary statements (no certification / no endorsement)

Compatibility & Upgrade Notes

  • Implementers: Pin to v1.0.0 for the frozen normative baseline.

  • Previously referenced tags: Earlier tags (e.g., v1.0.1, v1.0.2, v1.0.3, v1.1.0) are no longer valid references due to repository history loss/reset.

    • Treat v1.0.0 as the sole stable reference point going forward.
    • If you need a deterministic dependency, pin to this release tag (recommended) rather than historical commits.

Non-Goals (Explicit)

  • MPLP is not a framework, runtime, platform, or certification program.
  • This release does not endorse any specific agent framework or vendor implementation.

Integrity & Reproducibility

  • Authoritative source: schemas/ and associated validation/tests in the repository.

  • Recommended verification steps:

    • Run schema validation
    • Run Golden Test Suites (TypeScript/Python) if included in the repository CI for this tag
