Nano Banana Pro | Future Lab Edition ๐ŸŒ

The Ultimate Single-File Interface for Gemini 3 Pro + Fal AI.

Nano Banana Lab is a serverless, local-first "Lab Environment" for power users pairing Google's Gemini 3 Pro image generation with Fal AI workflows (Z-Image Turbo / Qwen Image, Flux Inpaint, SeedVR Upscale). It combines the simplicity of a single HTML file with the power of a desktop-class asset management system.

It features direct disk synchronization, advanced batching, multimodal reference injection, multi-provider routing, custom Fal payloads, and a persistent local database.

โš ๏ธ System Requirement: Requires a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) on Desktop to leverage the File System Access API. Firefox and Safari are not currently supported.

โšก Core Features

1. Zero-Install & Serverless

The entire application lives in one file: nano.html. No Node.js, Python, or Docker required. Just download, open, and generate.

2. Direct Disk Sync (The "Hard Link")

Unlike web apps that dump files into "Downloads," Nano Banana Pro binds directly to a folder on your drive.

  • Real-time Saving: Images are written to disk instantly upon generation.
  • Metadata Pairing: Every image is saved with a matching .json file containing the prompt, parameters, and timestamps.
  • Two-Way Sync: The app reads your folder state on startup, syncing your local library with the browser view.

3. Parallel Execution Protocol

  • Batch Processing: Generate up to 20 images simultaneously.
  • API Key Rotation: Add multiple API keys per provider. The system automatically cycles through them to maximize throughput and manage rate limits.
  • Auto-Retry: Built-in exponential backoff handles network glitches or API overloading automatically.

4. Multi-Provider Engine (New)

  • Provider Switch: Toggle between Google Gemini 3 Pro and Fal AI.
  • Fal Models: Z-Image Turbo (default) or Qwen Image (gen/edit).
  • Image-to-Image: When using Fal, the first reference image becomes the I2I input automatically.

5. Hybrid Persistence Layer

  • IndexedDB Cache: A high-performance local database caches your session, allowing you to load thousands of past results without cluttering memory.
  • State Recovery: Accidentally closed the tab? Pending tasks and unread results are restored instantly upon reopening.

6. Post-Processing Labs (New)

  • Image Editor (T): Crop, rotate, adjust, and inpaint masked areas (Fal Flux Pro).
  • AI Upscale (U): SeedVR upscale with factor + noise control (Fal).
  • Compression/Resample (R): Built-in JPEG optimization with split-view compare.

๐ŸŽฎ Pro Workflow & Hidden Features

Nano Banana Pro is packed with hidden interactions designed for speed.

๐Ÿ“‚ Advanced List Management & Reuse

  • Create & Delete: Create unlimited lists to organize projects (e.g., "Concepts", "Finals").
  • Smart Reuse:
    • Click REUSE: Loads the prompt, settings, and reference images from that card.
    • Cmd/Ctrl + Click REUSE: Loads only the Prompt (ignoring reference images and settings).
  • Drag-to-Reorder: Drag the list tabs themselves to reorder your workspace.
  • Drag-to-Move: Drag a result card and drop it onto a specific List Tab to move it there.
  • Quick Rename: Double-click any list tab to rename it instantly.
  • Mass Migration: Press M to open the List Transfer overlay and move every task in the current list to another list.

โŒจ๏ธ Keyboard Shortcuts (The "Lab Secrets")

Master the interface with these undocumented hotkeys:

Key Action Description
R Compress Opens the Compression Lab to resize/optimize the current image.

Z Zoom In Incrementally zoom into the image (Lightbox only).
X Zoom Out Incrementally zoom out (Lightbox only).
C Center/Reset Reset zoom level to 100% (Lightbox only).

๐Ÿงฉ Metadata Editing & Import Notes (New)

  • Import w/ Notes: Use IMPORT IMAGE or drag into the output stream to create cards with optional prompt/resolution/aspect notes.
  • Edit Mode: Press P, then click a card to update its prompt/resolution/aspect (synced to disk metadata).

๐Ÿงฐ Image Editor & Inpaint (New)

Open the Lightbox and press T.

  • Tools: Crop, rotate, brightness/contrast/saturation/grayscale adjustments.
  • Inpaint: Paint a mask + enter a prompt to fill areas (Fal Flux Pro).
  • Save Paths: Save as New or Overwrite the original.

๐Ÿ”ฌ AI Upscale (New)

Press U in the Lightbox.

  • SeedVR Upscale: Set upscale factor + noise.
  • Result: Saved as a new card (Fal API key required).

๐Ÿงช Custom Task Protocol (Fal) (New)

Press Alt + Enter inside the prompt field to open the Custom Task overlay.

  • Endpoint + Payload: Define any Fal endpoint path and a custom payload schema.
  • Auto-Injection: Prompt and the first reference image are injected automatically.

โš™๏ธ Configuration Guide

  1. Provider & API Keys:
  • Select a provider (Google or Fal AI) in the Configuration panel.
  • Get your Google key from Google AI Studio.
  • Get your Fal key from Fal AI.
  • Tip: Click + Add Key to input multiple keys per provider for heavy batch workloads.
  • Fal Models: Z-Image Turbo (default) or Qwen Image (gen/edit).
  • Fal Features: Inpaint, Upscale, and Custom Tasks require a Fal API key even if you generate with Google.
  1. Reference Inputs (Multimodal):
  • Supports image/png, image/jpeg, and image/webp.
  • Limit: Up to 14 reference images per generation task (Gemini).
  • Fal I2I: The first reference image is used for Fal image-to-image.
  • Clipboard Paste: Use the PASTE button to add an image from your clipboard.
  • Prompting: The model treats these as visual context. Use the prompt to describe how to use them (e.g., "Use the composition of image 1 and the style of image 2").
  1. Output Files:
  • Images are saved as nano-{timestamp}-{random}.png.
  • Metadata is saved as nano-{timestamp}-{random}.json.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Troubleshooting

"Output directory not bound"

  • Browsers reset file permissions on restart for security. You must click the "Re-authorize" button in the header each time you open the app.

"Quota Exceeded" (429 Error)

  • This means you hit the Google API rate limit.
  • Solution: Add more API keys to the rotation pool or enable "Auto-Retry" in settings.

"Fal task failed / Missing Fal API Key"

  • Inpaint, Upscale, and Custom Task workflows require a Fal API key.
  • Switch the provider to Fal AI and add at least one key in Configuration.

"Reset All"

  • The hidden โš  RESET ALL button (top right) performs a factory reset. It wipes LocalStorage (settings/keys) and IndexedDB (history). Use with caution.

๐Ÿ”’ Privacy & Architecture

  • Local-First: All logic runs in your browser.
  • Direct Connection: Requests go directly from your browser to generativelanguage.googleapis.com (Google) and fal.run (Fal). No middleman servers.
  • Data Ownership: Your keys and images never leave your control.
