❝ You ever throw something so satisfying you paused your game just to process it? ❞
That was me — right after Kratos’ axe came back.
This little project was born purely out of hype after a GOW gaming binge.
I saw the axe return. I felt the thump. I booted up Unity.
This isn’t a full game. It’s me geeking out over how ridiculously cool it feels to toss an axe and have it swirl back into your hand like it missed you.
A Unity sandbox recreating the core Leviathan Axe mechanic — throw, fly, return, repeat.
If you’ve ever wanted to yeet an axe and call it back like a god, well… here you go.
- Third-person controller (with camera magic via Cinemachine)
- Axe throw that detaches and returns with style
- Satisfying curve-based return path (because straight lines are boring)
- Basic animations via Mixamo
- Free 3D models pulled from Sketchfab
- Impact particles / VFX
- Destructible objects to make the throw mean something
- Slow-mo camera on recall (because yes)
- A satisfying thunk sound
- Unity 2022+
- C#
- Cinemachine
- Mixamo
- Sketchfab
This was never meant to be anything serious — just a dev flex after fangirling over God of War.
