Motivation for the change:
It's important to distinguish reads that are too short by their cause.
User could optimize loading concentration, optical system, base calling parameters, etc to address the first, but needs to focus on library preparation (adapter concentration, library cleanup ,etc) to address the second category. Conflating these two could lead to people to put effort into the wrong cause.
