Project Overview

PassHub is a simple and secure password manager built with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) and styled using Tailwind CSS. It allows users to store, manage, and organize their credentials (website, username, password) in one place with a clean, modern UI.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Node.js (v16+ recommended)
  • MongoDB (running locally or accessible remotely)

Installation

1. Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/Tejas-00/PassHub-full-stack.git
cd password-manager-MERN

2. Install dependencies

  • Frontend:

    npm install
  • Backend:

    cd backend
    npm install

3. Set up environment variables

  • Create a .env file in the backend/ directory if you want to override the default MongoDB connection string.

4. Start the backend server

cd backend
node server.js

5. Start the frontend development server

cd ..
npm run dev

Usage

  • Open the frontend in your browser.
  • Add new credentials using the form.
  • View, copy, edit, or delete credentials from the table.
  • All data is stored in your MongoDB database.
