Subject-17

This game is entirely made by me for Hack club. I plan to make it without using a game engine, making everything in JavaScript.

In the game you take control of subject #17, a lab experiment fugitive, and help it escape in this chaotic 2D endless-runner. Avoid hazards and panicked scientists as you run and use other escaped experiments to your advantage.

CURRENT PLANNING OF THE GAME:

HOUR 1 : set up project, canvas, background color, main loop
HOUR 2 : draw a rectangle or circle as player, add (x, y, width, height, velocity)
HOUR 3 : keyboard input (left, right, up), simple gravity and jump logic
HOUR 4 : detect floor collisions (walls?)
HOUR 5 : add friction, accelaration, velocity clamp, "bounce" when hitting floors and walls
 ----------
HOUR 6 : Bounding boxes, display velocity (tests)
HOUR 7 : Variable jump height (double jump) (gliding?)
HOUR 8 : Left/Right screen bounds, floor, platforms
HOUR 9 : Simple blocks spawned via code (hazard)
 HOUR 10 : Polish
 ----------
 10h Procedural Levels & Hazards
 10h NPCs & AI
10h UI, Score, Game management (health system, menu transitions)
10h particles, sounfs, screen shake & effects
 10 Replayability & Fixes
