The pthread library does not set the errno variable upon error. The error code is returned by the function instead. Without the patch, the following error message may occur: "FATAL: Terminating the checkpoint thread failed. errno = 0 (Success)" With the patch: "FATAL: Terminating the checkpoint thread failed. errno = 3 (No such process)"
