Table of Contents

1.0.0 Environment Info

1.0.1 Operating System

I am originally a Windows native, however most of my work now is done on the latest version of MacOS. For server projects, I run Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS.

1.0.2 Terminal

For my terminal setup, I use a terminal emulator called Kitty with a shell called Zsh. I chose Kitty for its speed (i.e. GPU support), image support, font ligature support, and further customizability features. Additionally, Zsh has plugin support (i.e. OhMyZsh), syntax highlighting, and autocompletion. I've also configured Zsh with powerlevel10k theming. For productivity, I've configured Tmux for multiplexing and preserving my running development processes (i.e. dev web pages). I'm beginning to learn Vim, along with Neovim keymappings for improved development efficiency. Additonally, I use Zoxide for fast file navigation.

1.0.3 Editor

I mainly use Zed for my editor of choice, occasionally using Visual Studio Code for their refactoring tools. I chose Zed for its lightweight design and fast performance, free of Electron (i.e. literal bloatware). I use a stock Prettier configuration for code formatting.

1.0.4 Languages

I mainly work with Python 3.11 for my current research projects. I use Miniconda for my environment management. I am a supporter of the experimental, AI-focused, Python superset called Mojo and use it in my free time. Most of my conda environments are started with Pytorch, Pandas, Numpy, and OpenCV. For web development, I use NextJS app router configured with TypeScript and TailwindCSS, and FastAPI paired with SQLite for backend services.
