Summary of Changes

Hello @eriksjolund, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses a subtle resource management issue in the libcrun library. It ensures that error objects are properly deallocated even in cases where a specific error condition (namespace not found) allows the operation to continue, preventing potential memory leaks.

Highlights

  • Error Handling: Fixed a resource leak where an error object (err) was not being released when a process namespace was not found (ENOENT) during the join_process_namespaces operation.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Changelog
  • src/libcrun/linux.c
    • Added crun_error_release(err); within the ENOENT error handling block in join_process_namespaces to prevent an error object leak.
Activity
  • No human activity (comments, reviews) has been recorded on this pull request yet.

Code Review

This pull request correctly fixes a memory leak in join_process_namespaces. When libcrun_open_proc_file fails with ENOENT, an error object was being allocated but not released before continuing the loop. The added crun_error_release(err) call properly deallocates the error object, preventing the leak. The change is correct and improves the robustness of the code. Good catch!
