🚀 v1.1.0-beta.2 – Batch Translation of Simple Text filter (Beta)

In this update, we’ve introduced two key improvements.

1. First, error messages are now displayed in both Japanese and English, enhancing accessibility for a wider audience.
2. Second, we’ve added a powerful translation feature. Users can now translate text into multiple languages using either the free translate package or the premium Google Translation API. The free package offers basic translation, while the Google API provides more natural and high-quality translations—perfect for advanced users.

Looking ahead, we’re also planning to add subtitle translation functionality in future versions, further expanding the tool’s capabilities.

What's New

• Cloud Rendering (experimental)
  • Offload rendering tasks from your local Shotcut client to a server.
  • Keeps your local machine free for other work during rendering.
  • Useful for avoiding noise, CPU/GPU usage, and interruptions while editing.

How It Works

• The client (Shotcut with this feature) sends a render job to the server.
• The server (can be another laptop, PC, or remote machine) processes the job.
• The rendered file is returned to the client once completed.

Status

• This is a beta release – functionality is working, but still experimental.
• Currently tested with Windows (client) + Linux (server) setup.
• Expect bugs, missing features, and rough edges.

Known Limitations

• Environment: Tested only with Windows client and Linux server.
• Access control: No authentication UI, but only users who know the unique job ID can access. Partial IP restriction is applied.
• Job handling: Only one render can run at a time. The client can see how many jobs are waiting in the queue.

Next Steps

• Support multiple simultaneous rendering jobs.
• Fix bugs as they are reported.
• Collect feedback from early users before stable release.

MLT Toolbox v1.0.0 Released – Subtitle & Simple Text Filter Line Break Feature

MLT Toolbox v1.0.0 is now available!
This update introduces a much-requested feature: automatic line breaks for subtitles and the Simple Text filter. Previously, if a line of text was too long, Shotcut would automatically reduce the font size to fit it within the screen width. With this new feature, long lines will now automatically break into multiple lines without shrinking the text size, ensuring better readability and preserving the original font size.

Key Features:

Automatic Line Breaks: Long lines in subtitles or Simple Text filters will now wrap to the next line without reducing font size.

Enhanced Readability: Improved text layout for better viewer experience.

Installation:

Download the latest version of Zip file from GitHub

Unzip it to any folder where you want to put it.

Since I don't have a digital signature, if you see a warning screen, please click on "More info" and then select "Run anyway" on the next screen.
