Support for JAVA_OPTS was dropped in favor of CATALINA_OPTS bamboo 9.6.x bamboo 9.2.x will be EOL February, 2025 bamboo 9.6.x will be EOL March, 2026 https://confluence.atlassian.com/support/atlassian-support-end-of-life-policy-201851003.html
All supported Bamboo versions require JAVA 8 or higher. PermGen no longer supported.
